New books for children in need

First Book-Philadelphia is an educational/literacy non-profit that provides new books to children in need. We make grants to pre-schools, charter schools, high schools and community initiatives, enabling them to purchase 6 to 12 books a year for each child--building mini-libraries in homes that frequently have no other access to books.

In 2012 we gave out 29,641 books to 7,366 kids from pre-k through high school in the Greater Philadelphia area--more than 84,000 books in the past three years alone.
